What these mean
- Return: Change in the basket's value over the range.
- CAGR: Compound growth per year. Not shown for a year or less: there it would only re-scale the return by the period's exact day count.
- Volatility: Standard deviation of daily returns, scaled to a year.
- Max drawdown: Deepest fall from a previous high, peak to trough, and whether the basket has climbed back to that high.
- Sortino: Annualised return per unit of downside volatility (only falling bars count). Higher is better; above 1 is good.
- Beta · Nifty 50: How much the basket moves for a 1% move in the Nifty 50. Above 1 swings more than the market.
- Up capture: How much of the Nifty 50's rise the basket took, in the calendar months the index went up. Above 100% beats it.
- Down capture: How much of the Nifty 50's fall the basket took, in the calendar months the index went down. Below 100% loses less.
- Best month: Best calendar month, from one month-end close to the next.
- Worst month: Worst calendar month, from one month-end close to the next.
- Nifty 50: The Nifty 50's own change over the basket's dates (price index, no dividends).
- Months up: Calendar months the basket ended higher than the month before, out of the months in the range.
- Turnover: Share of the basket bought and sold to get back to the target weights, counted one way and added up over every rebalance. Each 100% means trading the whole basket once. Shown when the basket is rebalanced.
- Trades: Buys and sells across all the rebalances (the first day's purchase not counted). No costs are taken off the return: brokerage, taxes and slippage would lower it.
- Measured on daily closes against the Nifty 50 over the same dates.
- Past prices only: not a forecast. Export Excel (at the top of the page) holds these figures, the holdings and the basket’s value line, not raw prices.

Backtest analysis · 1Ypast 1 year
How it is backtested: bought on the first day of the period at equal weights and held without rebalancing. Price change only, no dividends, costs or taxes. Stocks listed during the period are left out of it. The basket is today’s list of stocks, so companies that fell out of the industry before now are missing. A tracking and research tool, not investment advice. Every listed company on the Real Estate map.
