Gas pipelines, cryogenic and ammonia tanks and the ports that will ship green ammonia and methanol to Japan, Korea and Europe.
Hydrogen is hard to move: it is piped short distances, compressed into tube trailers or liquefied at -253°C. For exports it is turned into ammonia or methanol, stored in refrigerated tanks at a port and shipped like LPG.
Over 70% of India's contracted green hydrogen volume is for export (MNRE, Oct 2026). Deendayal (Kandla), V.O. Chidambaranar (Tuticorin) and Paradip ports were recognised as green hydrogen hubs in Oct 2025, giving projects there priority access to land and infrastructure (no direct cash).
Port and storage owners earn handling and tank-rental fees on long-term volumes; pipeline owners earn transport tariffs. Small today, but contract-backed once export plants run from 2027-2029.
