Where it fits
Electronics plants need machining centres for enclosures, presses, drills and plating lines for PCBs, and assembly/test equipment. ECMS pays a 25% capex subsidy to companies that make such equipment in India.
Why it matters
Almost all electronics production equipment is imported from China, Japan, Germany and Korea. Segment D is the one window still open (until 30 Apr 2027), and Jyoti CNC's ₹1,021 Cr approval (Aug 2026) is the largest so far.
Where the value pool sits
Each enclosure plant needs thousands of CNC machines; every new PCB fab buys drills, presses and plating lines. Indian machine-tool makers can win a share of a growing capex wave, at machine-tool margins.
Key drivers
Enclosure and PCB capex wave under ECMS
25% capex subsidy for local equipment makers
Defence and aerospace precision-machining demand
Potential bottlenecks
Precision, speed and reliability gap versus Japanese/Taiwanese machines
